I was initially very excited to reach out to Le Beige Beauty for my wedding hair and makeup. However, I was deeply disappointed to discover that South Asian brides are automatically charged $100 more than Western brides—regardless of the actual details of the event. As a South Asian bride having a one-day wedding with no outfit changes, five people in the bridal party, and a 4 p.m. ceremony start time, my event is no more complex than any other. Yet I was still subject to a higher base rate solely because of my cultural background. When I raised this concern, the response pointed to things like early starts, larger bridal parties, and multiple events as justification for the higher rate—despite those being listed separately as add-on charges in their website. Businesses are certainly entitled to charge more for additional time, labor, or complexity. However, assuming that all South Asian weddings require more work—and pricing automatically and making it non-negotiable without asking for details—felt discriminatory to me. The response I received was that pricing is transparent and non-negotiable. In my case, that meant paying $100 more simply because I am Indian, even though I’m having a streamlined event. Pricing should be based on services rendered, not stereotypes about a client's culture. I’m sharing this in hopes that the business will reflect on how their policies may unintentionally exclude or alienate people of South Asian descent. Transparency is important, but so is fairness

Le Beige Beauty (specifically Vita for makeup and Carly for hair) made me absolutely flawless on my special day. Le Beige is known for doing soft glam but I asked for full glam and they did not disappoint. I have hooded eyes which always makes it hard for me to like my makeup when done by others but Vita is an absolutely pro and knew how to navigate all of my facial features. The artists were super easy to get along with and we had a great time while getting ready for my wedding. I would highly recommend any artist at Le Beige, but would recommend asking for Vita and Carly if you have the chance!
