About
Food was phenomenal. The flavor of the Tikka masala sauce in the rice bowl ($12) is one of the best I've had. My friend got the Korma which was also tasty. Got the Mango & Ginger lemonade to go and it was lovely. The young server was brusk so that was eh but overall was good.
Exceptional food. The flavors were distinct but balanced. Medium spice level was a good balance though spicier would be fantastic without melting mouths.
Service was odd because the dish that was specifically stated to take the longest came out first by 10 minutes or more....and the food came out at 4 different times. Possibly going in a group of 6 was the cause and based on the other groups of 2-4, this is the only explanation.
Small in size but banging food restaurant on the street. Has indoor and outdoor seating. While we were seated the take outs were flowing. Combination of usual and new fusion Indian dishes. Trying something new on the menu was quite a delight. We loved the non-alcoholic drinks very unique flavors, infact the syrups are made in house. We loved everything we ordered. The Spinach Pakora chat was different than I ever had and it tasted delicious and lived up to the hype. The inhouse kulfi ice cream had hibiscus flavour, which was very different. We enjoyed our visit here. Restaurant really can word themselves as Kraft Bistro.
We decided to treat our friend to Indian food for her birthday. We love the Del Ray area and thought this restaurant would be perfect. We parked several blocks away (as we didn't know the exact location of the restaurant). Anyway, it was really nice walking down Mt. Vernon Ave and seeing all the Christmas decorations. We ordered some Masala Chai and a Spinach Chaat to start with. The chaat was really nice and a surprisingly large portion. The 3 of us shared a plate and there was plenty left over. For our main dishes, we ordered the Butter Chicken Pasta, Paneer Chana Rice Bowl, and the Tandoori Lamb Chops. The Pasta and the rice bowls were very flavorful and my friends enjoyed them. My lamb chops were marinated very well and soft, but the spices tasted a bit raw! The portions were huge (I had 4 lamb chops). Took 2 home and cooked them for a few minutes on a skillet and they were perfect.
For dessert, we ordered the Gulab Jamun and the vegan blueberry Kheer. The latter was okay...it did not look very appetizing and we wasted most of it. The Gulab Jamuns were fine.
