Philly brides — bakeries that’ll do henna-style cupcake designs?
Hi everyone! We’re doing a mehndi brunch instead of a formal night sangeet, and I’m skipping the cake altogether. I'd love to serve cupcakes with intricate mehndi-inspired piping instead. I’ve seen this done for cookies but can’t seem to find a Philly-area bakery that’s open to the idea for cupcakes. Has anyone here done something similar—or found a bakery that’s open to South Asian-style custom details? Open to NJ or Delaware recs too if they’re not a total logistical nightmare. Thank you!

omg I know exactly what you mean. my cousin did chai-spiced cupcakes with maroon + gold mehndi frosting in jersey. lemme text her for the name — I think it was someone home-based in Cherry Hill. low-key but SO talented. hang tight!!

i didn’t find anyone who got the mehndi look just right in frosting (piping tips are too thick sometimes) BUT i printed edible henna decals & stuck them on buttercream—looked amazing + way cheaper. if ur baker’s chill, that could be an option :)
