MUA asking to be tagged in every wedding photo — normal or overstepping?

Hi all! Former bride here—this has been bugging me and I’d love your thoughts. My makeup artist did a great job and I’ve already tagged her in my "vendor reel" post and wrote a positive review. But now she’s asked me to tag her in every photo I post, even ones that are just me and my family or random behind-the-scenes shots from the day. I totally understand wanting credit, but is this normal? It feels excessive when I’m posting something personal, not a beauty promo. I haven’t responded yet because I don’t want to offend her, but it’s making me rethink sharing at all. TIA for any thoughts!

ok so tagging ONCE = basic courtesy. tagging in every single pic forever? not a chance lol. tell her nicely that you already gave credit and you’re not running a bridal ad campaign 🤦‍♀️

Agree with @Riya! Most vendors I know are happy with one tagged post + a review. Maybe offer to send her a few untagged pics for her use if that helps?

That’s a bit much. I had a similar convo with our photographer—he asked once and I just said I'd tag when relevant but not on every photo. Maybe just reply with, “Happy to tag on the main posts, but I also post personal moments and prefer to keep those untagged.” Kind but clear!

Honestly had this happen with my mehndi artist. She followed up 3x asking for tags and it got super uncomfortable. I ended up limiting who could DM me for a bit. Tag once and move on—you don’t owe her your gallery.

@Everyone thank you so much. It helps to hear this isn’t just me being over-sensitive. I’ll draft a polite message tonight using what @Simran suggested ❤️

Vendor here—this happens more than you’d think. I personally ask for permission to repost and I’m grateful when I’m tagged even once. Not every client wants to turn their personal feed into a vendor credit reel. Totally fair to set boundaries 👍
