About
One of my favorite happy hours in Philly! I absolutely love everything on the menu, but I always seem to get the samosa chaat, tandoori paneer, goat cheese naan, Calcutta pork ribs and goan crab cake. I tried the Amritsari fish pakora for the first time yesterday and it was perfectly fried and delicious too. My friend ordered the chili chicken dry and okra salad and they were also so so good. I especially loved the okra salad and thought it was so beautiful and well prepared, the flavors and presentation were so elevated and just amazing. The service is always phenomenal and the bartender always makes our day. Oh and also they have some of the best mango lassi in the city. Highly recommend!! 🥰
Went for their lunch platters and really enjoyed them; the presentation was perfect for trying everything with each other or even separately. I got the lamb vindaloo and my brother got the chicken tandoori; he liked the butter chicken that he got another day more but still enjoyed his. They give you a great amount of naan which goes great with the sauce of any dish. The staff were very kind and let us sit at a more lighted table at our request. Will definitely be back!
I am a new lover of Veda! After coming here with a friend over the weekend I decided to return for lunch this week. I was so happy to find out they had specials for restaurant week!
The fish pakora was so good I literally wrote home to mom about it! As someone with dietary restrictions finding a place to eat can be hard, but Veda has loads of clearly labeled gluten free options. Their fish is sumptuous and flavorful. I also got the fish moylee and the sauce was so good I could swim in it! I totally enjoyed everything I had. Everything tasted very fresh, flavorful, and delicious.
Apart from the food the service was wonderful. My waiter was kind and attentive at every point throughout my meal. It’s great when food tastes good and even better when service stands out. My waiter, Khemraj, was so kind and helpful I will make it a point to stop by again sometime this week when he is working. Do yourself a favor a stop by Veda. Whether you’re by yourself, on a date, or with a friend- you’ll be glad you did!
Veda was a pretty aesthetic place to get some decent Indian food! The mango lassi was fresh and refreshing to have especially incase the ‘spicy’ senses came in. The samosas were also good with the chutney. For the main courses we got, 3 Makhanis (1 paneer, 2 chicken), Paneer Palak, and garlic naan. Everything entree wise was okay/good, but nothing was WOW. There were no real flavors that stuck out. I think we also hyped up the experience going there and seeing the place looking amazing- the entrees just weren’t at the same level. Service was good and friendly! I would possibly go back and try some other things, but I’ve had better Indian food!

Can here for their happy hour. I got the lemon drop and it was good. I also got the samosa chaat and tandoori paneer. The tandoori paneer came with cilantro mint chutney and it was tasty. It was well marinated. The samosa chaat was good wish they added some amli chutney and it would’ve been perfect. The bartender was super nice. Loved the Bollywood music. Loved also seeing books at the entrance and bar, which fits the name Veda.
