About
If you’re craving traditional Punjabi cuisine that hits every taste bud, Phulkari Punjabi Kitchen in Madison Heights is the place to be! The flavors here are nothing short of amazing. The Papdi Chaat is a perfect blend of textures and spices, and the Halwa Puri is simply to die for. I would travel light years just to savor these dishes again. Truly, this spot is a must-visit for anyone seeking an authentic and unforgettable dining experience. Wow!
Used to be one of the best Indian restaurant around here. They seem to have completely given up. Maybe it's the second generation who has to taken over, they seem to be genuinely upset to receive a call or a customer walk in. The food quality has slid down. The last time I went in there they did not have forks. I had ordered a seekh kebab and when I requested for one the owner said they don't have forks and anyway I will eat the naans with my hands so why do I need a fork!!! Poor restaurant cleanliness, food quality sliding down and one of the rudest owner family - can't recommend this to anyone anymore.
A creepy place, atmosphere-wise. Dimly lit, bare cafeteria style decor. Looks closed and empty until you see a couple unwelcoming people in the back kitchen. My food was good but very salty.
Customer service was great and not rushed at all. I ordered lamb curry with rice , 2 veggie samosas, and a 4pc chicken tandoori with naan bread. Total of about $26 gets me enough food to eat for lunch. The chicken tandoori came in all cuts. Wing, leg, thigh and breast. I have been to many indian resturaunts and this is the first time i was offered tandoori in breast or wing. The wing was great, the thigh was awsome, and the leg was phenomenal. Dipping it in the green sauce with a little of the amazingly fresh naan bread was very tasty. The chicken had a grillled char flavor that was very nice. The breast was super dry and pink at the bone🤔. The lamb curry sauce was superb. Must have been one of the best I ever had. The lamb however was a bit over cooked, not all but most. The ones that were not over cooked tasted great. The rice was very nice and moist , exactly how I like it. Now for the samosas. I normally like to order meat samosas and if they dont have I will accept chicken. They didnt have either one so i went for the veggie ones. They tasted amazing. Very good. Dipped in the green sauce it was wow. The brown sauce was the BEST sauce i have had to this date at any indo/pak/bengali resturaunt. I dont know whats in it but it tasted like a syrupy cumin like sauce. So good that i made sure my last bite was dipped in it. I ordered a side of mango pickel. Its very rare yo find this nowadays and i was super excited to have it. It wasnt as good as the ones i buy from the supermarket but it was ok for being able to have it at a resturaunt. I will def come back and try other dishes and another order of samosas with that awsome brown sauce. I recomend this place but ask them not to over cook the lamb and not undercook part of the chicken.

We have catered samosas (300+) from them several times for our church for several decades (even back when they used to be called Indo-Pak). They make them fresh for us and they are the best. Great size, great taste and the best brown sweet chutney to pair with the samosas. Can't speak much to the rest of their menu but I am sure it's delicious. Thank you for the great service and food. Loyal customers and will keep coming back.
