About
Pippali offers a dining experience that's a bit of a mixed bag. While some dishes stood out, others fell short of expectations. We particularly enjoyed the Tandoori Mushrooms, which were flavorful and well-prepared, with a nice char that complemented the dish. The Naans were soft and crispy, and not too thick, which made them a great accompaniment to the meal.
However, we felt that the dishes leaned toward the sweeter side, seemingly catering to the local population. This sweetness detracted from the authenticity of the flavors that we were hoping to find. Overall, Pippali was an okay experience. There were some high points, but the overly sweet flavor profile of many dishes left us wishing for a more balanced and traditional taste.
Call it an americanized indian restaurant. It is a good place to try out if your spice tolerance is low. Good pricing of thalis on weekdays. I paid 15$ for a vegetarian thali, was super full & couldn’t finish.
For Indians- food was very bland in my opinion. It lacked salt and spices.
I should have mentioned to the waiter to make it Indian level spicy.
Service was on point. Very attentive.
Pippali NYC is known to serve amazing north indian fare . The appetisers from the tandoor are fabulous, sumptuous and full of flavour. The mains are not far behind but delicious and great. And last but definitely not the least, the desserts are to look forward to when ending such a beautiful meal and an amazing experience.
Ordered the palak paneer and butter chicken with a side of garlic naan. The curries were less flavorful than expected, but the portion sizes were great. We loved the sweet lassi and the mango lassi. Definitely would love to try the salted lassi next time. The restaurant was clean, and the service was attentive.
