About
We ordered Samosa chaat , chicken 65 and mango Lassi as an appetizer. Chaat was really tasty, lassi was okay but chicken 65 was disappointing. Sauce was like Buffalo Wild Wings sauce, very thick, tangy and red. For entree we ordered Butter chicken which was for some reason very red; chicken was good though. I wish they avoid adding color to the gravy and add more butter as the name says. We also ordered Daal tadka and that was the worst daal tadka I ever tasted. There was no tadka to the daal and just bland daal. It was lacking taste and texture. If they would have added a red chili, garlic and cumin seed tadka on top that would have been a great dish. Overall we had an okay experience. Would not suggest unless they up their taste game.
Good Indian Restaurant with a party hall! 😊
The food here was tasty 🤤 we ordered Tandoori chicken 🍗 for my husband and; dal makhani and naan 🫓 for me. The food 🥘 was served in large quantities: totally worth the price 💯 they also served us with the salad as complimentary which is a healthier option 🥗
The staff were very friendly and helpful.
They also have a very good party hall to host small groups.
Always a nice place to eat. The staff is very friendly and humble. The food is prepared with only fresh ingredients. The chicken tandoori is by far the best I have eaten in Houston. If you are wanting a taste of India this is the spot.
Update: just tried there wonderful buffet. Not your average Indian buffet, way better. Great food options, including desserts I have never tried. The cost is only $15.99 ! Very nice wait staff. The owner is here making sure everything is perfect. This place never disappoint me.
This is a beautiful restaurant with amazing food! We come here all the time, pretty much every week. Yeah, it's that good 👍 Every day they have a buffet so you can try lots of different dishes. It really is delicious. John, our waiter is so nice and attentive. I highly recommend this restaurant! 😋

Absolutely Appalling Experience at Saffron Indian Kitchen, Houston My recent event at Saffron Indian Kitchen in Houston was nothing short of a disaster, leaving me utterly dismayed and deeply regretting our choice of venue. What was promised to be a special occasion turned into a series of frustrating disappointments, highlighting a shocking lack of professionalism and attention to detail.
From the moment we arrived, it was clear that Saffron Indian Kitchen had failed to deliver on fundamental aspects we had explicitly discussed and confirmed. The absence of linen covers on the tables and chair bows was glaringly obvious, as well as no plates, napkins and utensils on the table making the entire setup look cheap and unfinished. This wasn't a minor oversight; it was a blatant disregard for the agreed-upon aesthetic and a significant detraction from the ambiance we had envisioned.
The technical issues were equally infuriating. The projector was broken, rendering it completely useless for our presentation. This is an absolutely critical piece of equipment for many events, and for it to be non-functional without any prior notice or a viable backup plan is simply unacceptable. It disrupted our schedule and forced us to scramble for alternatives, adding immense stress to an already chaotic situation.
However, the most egregious failing was the abysmal service during food distribution. We were left bewildered by the complete lack of stand-by servers while food was being served. This resulted in disorganization, delays, and a thoroughly unpleasant experience for our guests. It felt like a free-for-all, with no one to guide the flow, assist guests, or ensure a smooth and dignified meal service. This fundamental operational flaw speaks volumes about the management's inability to execute even the most basic event requirements.
In summary, our experience at Saffron Indian Kitchen was a catastrophic failure. The venue failed on basic decor, crucial equipment, and, most importantly, the fundamental provision of service during a key part of our event. It was a very bad experience that I would not wish upon anyone. Save yourself the frustration and look elsewhere if you value professionalism, reliability, and a positive event experience.
